Kindergarten Math & Reading App Reviews

As someone with Masters degree in Educational Technology, I have done quite a lot of research, studies and writing on the topic of how important it is to expose children to technology in a way that is relevant to them. This great app is perfect to enhance a Preschoolers understanding of basic concepts of learning letters and numbers. My little guy loves to trace, so he especially enjoys the tracing exercises. It is vitally important to introduce these concepts in a way that is both educational and fun. When that occurs, children tend to more easily retain what they are taught. This app is a fantastic addition to our lessons and I love the fact that the kids are learning while theyre having fun!!

If youve got preschoolers, they will LOVE this fun interactive app that helps them work on skills like letter recognition and rhyming words, addition and subtraction plus sequencing, and fine motor skills, too! I LOVE the library where your kids can read along to favorites like Cinderella and Puss in Boots! The writing tasks provide arrows to help your child learn proper letter formation and gently provide reminders and a chance to try again if they make a mistake. The graphics are great, the characters are cute, and the music is catchy. Your kids will love it!

UPDATE: We gave this new and improved app a try today and my daughter was very pleased to see some new activities to enjoy! These are four categories of free educational activities - Reading, Writing, Math, and Library, with 8 separate games. Youll have access to more with a paid account. As always with Kids Academy, we love the characters, voices, graphics, music, and overall fun. My daughters favorite part was listening to and reading along with the story of Cinderella.

This awesome app from Kids Academy helps children learn to read and teaches children spelling, reading and writing skills. In todays world of technology, most kids can use cell phones at an early age so why not offer educational apps to help! This app offers 2 levels of difficulty as well as a mode for both left and right handed children. The app truly caters to the needs of the individual child with engaging, fun and colorful games that encourage your children to keep learning. If you have a youngster learning to read, this app is for you! My 2 year old nephew is very interested in books and I loved sharing this app with him. He didnt want to give me my iPad back when I wanted it. I love how interactive and positive the app is to encourage and engage your children to learn and read!

This is such a great app!! Easy to use and educational. My daughter is really enjoying playing with it and learning. Its fun and not boring so she thinks shes playing games. I like that it can grow with her!!!

This is such a quality educational app, perfect for preschoolers. I really wish this was around when my son was preschool age and will be glad to have it once my daughter is old enough. Although, even though he is 7 years old he enjoyed trying it out. Its always good to have a few quality apps to keep the kids entertained and learning at the same time, especially in boring situations (like the DMV). I love the bright colors in this game. It gives it such a happy tone along with the cute and friendly characters. This Kids Academy app also has kid friendly music, sound effects, and fun friendly voices. This app really is designed to keep kids engaged in fun learning. Another great thing about this app is that it teaches reading and math. All of the basics from ABCs to counting are here in one app. Even though your children are already learning these things its great to have a fun reinforcement like this.

My family is really enjoying this new app from Kids Academy. I love that preschoolers can be prepared math, reading and writing in school thanks to the fun and easy activities provided in the app. The fun characters, child-like music and bright colors are perfect for this age. I appreciate the wide variety of activities in each learning section too. And best of all, the stories of "Puss in Boots" and "Cinderella" made the app over the top great!

I am always looking for fun ways to integrate technology with learning. My kids love to play games on my phone, but I prefer if they are actually learning something at the same time instead of mindless entertainment (blame the homeschool teacher in me!) My older kids have educational computer games, and now my preschooler does too. She loves the bright colors and fun music. I love how the app actually teaches her to write her numbers and letters the correct way. There are even cute little songs and stories that my baby likes to watch. I even upgraded to the paid version because it is such a great addition to our day. Not only is it great for babies and preschoolers, but my kindergarten girl enjoys it too because it even has short words and easy addition problems for her to work on. I think my favorite part is all the free printables we have access to. It really reinforces learning when you use a variety of mediums. Definitely get this app if you have small children!

A great app that was fun for both me and my child. I used this app with my kindergartener and she loved the interactive app and the characters in it. I highly recommend this Montessori style learning app for anybody looking for entertainment and education all rolled up into one app.

My kids are older than most of my nieces and nephews so we’ve gotten rid of a lot of our younger toys. I’m loving this app for when they come over and need to settle down a bit. It keeps them entertained and out of places they shouldn’t be. Their parents love that they aren’t watching cartoons and are learning so it’s a win win for everyone!

My son has really struggled with learning over the past few years and even now a month into the second grade he continues to struggle with basic things especially reading. His teachers have suggested that we try to include some educational apps into our at home studies. The Kids Academy Apps have been a great addition for us. Though it’s designed for kids of a younger age we have been able to use it to refresh the basics with him. It includes writing, math, and reading as well as library so if he’s not feeling up to working on one on one particular day he has other options. It’s really helped to boost his confidence and he looks forward to playing it. I love that it also has printable worksheets for days when we are on the run or when we need a break from electronics. Overall, I was really excited about this app and couldn’t have been more impressed. I will definitely recommend it to family and friends who are in the market for something similar.

Kids Academy is a great App for children who are trying to learn how to write their letters. I was really surprised that not only did it allow my nephew to trace his letter but also once he reached a letter, it introduced the letter with a word that started with the letter. Not to mention the fact that after he traced the letter it went ahead and had him write the letter on his own without the trace lines. This is a really neat App and I feel that any parent that wants their child to learn more and get ahead should download this App! This is another great learning app. Not only do we use it as a game, the kids are busy learning and have no idea, We get a kick out of the money mosters, they are awesome. For me keeping Devons mind going and learning is a plus. He knows how to count out money, this keeps him great at it. A plus for me is that they have printable work sheets, so I can print them up and have Devon do them. We love all the Kids Academy apps. !

The app is user-friendly which is really great. It is definitely designed for easy navigation and exploration for kids. It is also full of colorful, eye-catching animation and harmonious music. And who would not enjoy listening to that sweet and lovely voice teaching you what to do and telling you what you’re going to get if you do it right? I totally enjoyed it myself. What more the kids? My son may be too old for this app, but as a parent, I have no doubt that he would have loved it. This app has totally made learning for kids super fun to the highest level.

I limit screentime for my young ones, so when they are on a device, I prefer they use learning apps, which I switch up often. My youngest daughter is hooked on this Kids Academy app. Even the basic version has a nice range of fun activities that really inspire you to expand to the All-Access Pass, from letter tracing to number games. The games are very responsive, even on my older IPad. I think this one will be a favorite for a long time.

Granted I dont have kids of my own, but what a cute app to have handy when I am around kids that might want to play and learn at the same time!I think that when you make learning fun and not a chore it makes it tons more easier and effective! Many categories which include(writing ,reading math, a library and kids tv) What more could you ask for? Also lots of things to unlock to keep the app fresh and ever expanding. Love the cute dog and the owl too! Dont forget about parent mode where you can get some free printable worksheets, control the sounds and make a profile for your child and more!

Its nice to see an educational app that really truly helps kids learn at the same time. This app is great for learning letters and numbers. Lots of fun to play, my kids love it! The printable worksheets are great too. There are a lot of free things to do within the app. It is a great way to help prepare kids for school in a way that coincides with our ever changing technology!

The app is really entertaining so much that my toddler doesnt even know she is learning. She plays with it all of the time and even opens it herself. I love how colorful and cute the characters are. I also like the tracing feature to learn how to write letters. This has really gotten her an early start on writing. Great app and I love that it is free!

My twins are very much in the interested in electronics phase, so I decided to let them have a go at a kid friendly app. I do surprise, and prompt and guide, but they have had a blast figuring out everything with this app. Little fingers click thing with a purpose, the colors are bright, and overall this app has their attention like none other. Smooth transitions, the only downside I see to this is it is a rather large app!

I really love this app! The bright colors and fun characters keep my three year old entertained as he learns to trace letters and recognize numbers. I enjoy knowing that the games will grow with him and that he can see his progress with the awards. I love the library and kids TV sections as well as he enjoys listening to the stories and watching the shows when he’s done playing. In the couple of weeks that we’ve been using Kids Academy my son has learned to identify numbers and letters easily, which is really exciting to see. Of course, we use the worksheets when we want some “offline” play and it’s great that Kids Academy offers a way to keep learning when screen time is over. We use them when his older brothers are doing their homework so that he can sit at the table and “work” just like them!
